Meet the author
I’m Amy Washburn, author of The Evolutionary Mindset, a leadership strategist, and someone who knows firsthand that growth rarely happens in straight lines. My career has taken me from frontline HR roles to the executive table of a Fortune 30 company, and now to helping leaders and organizations unlock potential they didn’t realize they had.
I hold a Master’s degree in Adult Learning and degrees in HR Management and Organizational Behavior, along with certifications in Prosci Change Management, Insights Discovery, and SHRM. Over the past twenty years, I’ve worked with leaders across industries — from manufacturing floors to boardrooms — guiding them through some of their most complex challenges.
But beyond the titles and certifications, I’m also a mom, a wife, and someone who treasures weekends spent outdoors in Idaho hiking, paddleboarding, or just sitting by the fire pit with family (and our dog, Whiskey). Those moments keep me grounded and remind me why this work matters: because real life doesn’t pause when change shows up.
This book is a blend of both sides of my life, the research and practice of organizational psychology, and the very human lessons of resilience, faith, and adaptability. My hope is that as you read, you’ll not only gain tools to help you lead through change, but also feel a personal connection to the journey, one that proves growth is possible for all of us, even when it’s uncomfortable.
